How to get rid of This copy of Microsoft Office is not Activated?

Are you irritated by the Microsoft Office activation wizard, Every time when you launch Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook it shows this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated? Do not worry, this article is entirely dedicated to the solution to the error code 0x4004F00C. This is not as much of a serious error but sometimes due to it, you are unable to access the application entirely or all the features provided by Microsoft, whenever you launch Microsoft’s application, this error message keeps coming again and again which feels too irritating, and to look professional it becomes necessary to fix it.

Sometimes your Microsoft applications show Product Activation Failed, I want to inform you that this is a completely different error than ours, its solution is also different, and I have written a separate article on it.

How to repair it when it shows this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated when you open any Microsoft Office program?

This issue can occur in any version of Microsoft Office. As you can see in the below image I have Microsoft Office 2013 version and the same issue has occurred to my computer too. When you open any program of Microsoft Office this message box is shown this clearly means that you use Microsoft Office without a valid product key or use an unlicensed copy of Microsoft Office.

Method 1: Try to Login with the correct ID

If your Microsoft Office applications are showing the “This copy of Microsoft Office is not activated” message, the first thing to try is to re-login with the correct ID. You may have used another account while purchasing the license and here you are logging in with another account. So make sure whether you are logged in with an associated account or not. You can try by logging in on the official website of Microsoft with each of your existing accounts to make sure on which account you have taken over the license. You will find, Microsoft 365 will be listed in the purchase area of the account on which your license is registered. In this way, you can find the correct account for getting rid of the error message.

Method 2: Repair Office Applications

Repairing an Office application is the most effective method to get rid of this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated. If you repair any one application of Office, then it repairs the entire Office suite. The steps to access the repair tool:

1. Right-click on the Start button at the left corner of Taskbar, and click on Apps and Features on the pop-up menu.
2. Select the Microsoft Office application you want to repair, and click on Modify button.
3. According to your copy of the Office, whether it is Click-to-run or MSI-based, you will you’ll see the following options to proceed with the repair.

• Click-to-run
  
  In the window How would you like to repair your Office Programs, select Online Repair > Repair to make sure everything gets fixed. (The faster Quick Repair option is also available, but it only detects and then replaces corrupted files.)

• MSI-based
  
  In Change your installation, select Repair and then click Continue.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair proceedure.

Method 3: Check Your Date and Time Settings

Sometimes incorrect date & time be the reason for occurring error “this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated.” Therefore you should make sure that the date and time of your computer is correct.

1. Close all the applications and programs on your computer.

2. Right-click on the Time and Date at the right corner of the taskbar on your computer and click on Adjust date/time from the top of the list.

3. Under Date & time, turn on Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.

Method 4: Activate Microsoft Office using Activator

Activator is very safe and simple to use thus the computer noob can use it. It supports activating the new version of Microsoft Office and Windows. There should be many Activators available on the internet, but you have to download one from the given link below.

Download Activator: When you are going to download the Activator, the process of downloading gets blocked by Chrome. It happens due to the browser considers the Activator as harmful to your computer. So before downloading, you have to do a mandatory thing that you have to turn off the browsing and downloading security of the Chrome browser. After doing this you will be able to download the file. The downloaded file will be a Zip file, which you need to extract by pressing the right mouse button on it. Extracting the file will generate a new folder, and now you are ready to run the Activator.

Turn off the Virus & threat protection of your PC

You must need to keep your Anti-Virus turned off while running the activator. One more important thing is to keep your internet connection off. If you don’t know how to turn it off, follow the step below:

1. Click on the “Start” button on your computer.
2. Go to Setting → Update & Security → Windows Security → Virus & threat protection.
3. Now press the Manage Settings button under Virus & threat protection settings.

4. On the next window, turn off the below mentioned settings by desabling the parameters.
• Real-time protection
• Cloud-delivered protection
• Automatic sample submission
• Tamper protection

Turn off the Firewall & network protection of your PC

You have done it successfully. Now you have to do the same with Windows defender. Continue reading to know how to make it happen below:

1. Go to Firewall & network protection. You will see a list including Domain network, Private network, and Public network.
2. First of all click on Domain network and turn it off by desabling the parameter.
3. Same thing you have to do with Private networks and Public networks too.

Now you have successfully turned the Anti-Virus and Windows defender off. Now you are ready to go ahead.

Run Activator to fix this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated

1. Open that newly generated folder that you have extracted.
2. Click the right mouse button on the KMSAuto.net application file and click on Run as administrator.
3. Now click on the “Activation” button. It will show you two options Activate Windows and Activate Office.
4. Click on the “Activate Office” button. It will start the activation process. You have to wait until it shows the successful message on the below blue dialogue box.
5. Then it will automatically open a popup window as Task Scheduler, click the “Cancel” button there.
6. After doing this, close all files, restart your computer and open any program of Microsoft Office.

You will find that this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated the issue has been repaired successfully. Now turn on the settings of the anti-virus, and network protection and make your computer connect to the internet.

Method 5: Check for Multiple Copies of Microsoft Office

If you are suffering from this problem, you need to check how many versions of Microsoft Office are on your computer. If there is more than one version, keep anyone. Let’s see how you can check the versions on your computer below:

1. Go to the Control Panel of your computer to find how many versions you have.
• Windows 11 or  Windows 10: You can directly go for Control Panel by searching it in the Search button beside the Start button. Then go to Programs → Programs & Features.
• Windows 8.1 or Windows 8: Click the right mouse button on the Start button then go to Control Panel → Programs → Programs & features.
• Windows 7: Click on the Start button and go to Control Panel → Uninstall a program.

There you can see how many Microsoft Office versions you have. Now look at the image, I have only one version of Microsoft Office. If you found many versions there, you should keep any one of them

2. To delete the unnecessary version, right click on the version which is unnecessary and click on the “Remove/Uninstall” button.
3. Once restart your computer, open any Mircosoft Office program, and check whether the issue occurs again or not.

By doing till this You might not find this issue anymore on your computer. Once restart your computer and open any Office application and you will find the error message did not come again. These are the most effective methods to repair this copy of Microsoft Office is not activated.
